This is not the first time I have drawn attention to research that substantiates the importance of flavonoids / polyphenols to your daily diet. This time it's a study published online this week in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It comes from researchers from the University of East Anglia (UK) and Harvard School of Public Health (US). It shows that the amount of flavonoids in general, and two in [articular (flavanones and anthocyanins) that are present in the diet is associated with the relative risk of stoke and heart attack in men. Higher flavonoid content equated to a lower risk; 22% and 14% respectively.

The best sources of these flavonoids / polyphenols in the diet are colorful fruits and berries...so I eat them whenever I can. And to make sure I'm getting plenty I make Flavonoid Complex and Tre a regular part of my healthy eating program.

Here's the link for all those interested.
